GENERAL INFORMATIONS
Is there an age limit to who can participate on the painting?
We recommend 10 years of age for our adult paintings, provided that concentrating for 3 hours is not a problem for the kid. We also recommend taking an easy painting (marked by one palette) they are the most enjoyable for kids.
DO WE GET EVERY TOOL THAT WE NEED?
The answer is yes! You only need to bring your creative self. You’ll have an apron, the necessary tools, paint, cloth to wipe when needed and the prepared canvas.
DOES ACRYLIC PAINT COME OUT OF CLOTHES?
The acrylic paint that we use can be removed if it’s being removed right away, when dry it can only be removed with scissors. It is advised to roll up your sleeves or choose clothing that’s fine with some paint marks.
ARE THE EVENTS AVAILABLE WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS IN ENGLISH?
Events are only available in Hungarian!
DOES THE CANVAS HAVE GUIDELINES?
With more difficult paintings there are some guidelines unlike the freer style paintings where you’ll find no sketches.
WHEN TO ARRIVE AT THE LOCATION?
It’s enough to be there 5-10 mins before the event. This gives you time take your place, get comfortable and get in the creative mood.
CAN IT BE PAINTED BY MORE OF US?
The majority of our pictures cannot only be painted individually but also in a pair or group. It’s dictated by the attributes of each picture. Paintings that can be shared have an “available in pairs” remark on the website. Shared paintings require a ticket for each individual as it doesn’t mean you’ll have one big canvas but 2 or more 40x50cm canvases that’ll give you a big one when put together.
AS A PARENT, CAN I STAY WITH MY CHILD DURING THE EVENT?
If you purchased a ticket for yourself too then of course. If you haven’t, we ask you to come back for your kid a couple minutes before the end. They are in good hands! Our well-trained instructions pay close attention to children and to be frank it is better for them to be able to let their creativity flow. Participation is only possible if you have paid the price of the event, thank you for your understanding!
WHAT’S THE SIZE OF THE CANVAS?
We usually provide canvases that are 40x50cm. This can vary depending on the picture’s style. You can learn more when you read the description of the chosen picture.
CAN I BRING MY DOG ALONG?
Since there are others too on each event and we can’t be sure whether they are comfortable with dogs, unfortunately you can’t bring a pooch.
WHAT KIND OF CLOTHING SHOULD I WEAR?
Wear comfortable clothes that you’ll find comfortable even 3 hours into it. We provide you with an apron, so you don’t need to worry about paint stains.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE A BIRTHDAY PARTY OR BACHELOR(ETTE) PARTY?
Naturally, painting makes for wonderful past time for either of those. Click here to learn more.
MAY I BRING DRINKS OR SNACKS?
You may but it is advisable to have a few bites before the event. We provide drinks (coffee and tea) and there is going to be a 15 min break during.
DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR PARKING IN THE AREA?
It depends on which location you choose, please check before you come, here.
MAY I TAKE THE PICTURE I PAINTED?
Naturally yes, it is the fruit of your hard work. It would look great in your place or make for a good present. You’ll receive an Alkotásutca branded paper bag that you can carry it in to make it a little easier and to avoid awkward looks on the bus with people thinking which museum you lifted that Monet from.
CAN I FINISH MY PAINTING IN 3 HOURS?
Yes again, we wouldn’t let you leave with a half-done painting. A few of our paintings require special techniques hence takes longer to complete you can get all the information in the description.
Will the paint dry?
Acrylic paint’s consistency is similar to oil paint’s, but it does dry quickly taking only a few minutes until dry to the touch.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE PAINTINGS THAT THE INSTRUCTORS CREATE?
These go to charity, to make the world a more colorful place.
WHERE CAN I SEE THE PICTURES THAT WERE TAKEN DURING THE EVENT?
You can check the photos taken by our instructors on Alkotásutca’s Facebook page on the following day of the event.
HOW DO WORKSHOPS WORK? (BAG, SUPERHERO PAINTING AND WREATH MAKING)
Our workshops differ from paintings that on these events the instructors aren’t creating themselves therefore the participants are free to let their imagination run wild. There are some templates and examples from what you can get inspired, and our instructors are there to guide you should you get stuck. The point is to unleash your creativity.
Booking, payments, rescheduling, cancelation
HOW CAN I BOOK?
You can easily select a date and picture of your liking on our website. In the ‘events’ tab you can narrow your search down by location, date, and painting. When you have chosen, please provide us with your order and invoice details, how many people you’d like to book for then hit the ‘Reserve’ button!
CAN I JOIN WITHOUT A BOOKING?
These classes are almost always full, unfortunately we can’t accept admissions on site. Please click here to make a booking.
WHAT TO DO IF I COULDN’T MAKE A RESERVATION DUE TO TECHNICAL PROBLEMS?
There’s nothing to it, just try the booking process again. If you can’t get past a certain point, please contact Customer Service.
WHAT TO DO IF I HAVEN’T RECEIVED THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL?
Every reservation is finalized with an automatic confirmation email. Please check first whether it has landed in your spam folder and if you can’t find it anywhere contact our Customer Service.
I COULDN’T COMPLETE THE PAYMENT ON PAYPAL, WHAT’S NEXT?
You’ll get the confirmation email shortly where you’ll find the payment link to try and see if it works. If there’s no success, please contact Customer Service.
MAY I SPLIT THE PAYMENT FOR EXAMPLE BETWEEN CASH AND CARD?
We regret to inform you that it isn’t possible to split, your payment can be by card, by SZÉP card or in cash.
WHAT TO DO IF I CAN’T PARTICIPATE IN THE RESERVED EVENT?
Reservations can be canceled 48 hours prior to it by sending an email to: info@alkotasutca.hu  The subject of the email needs to contain “cancelation”. When you cancel in time, your reservation will be suspended, and you may be moved to another date/time/painting within 40 days of the original reservation. Bookings canceled within 48 hours are not accepted and alternative events will not be possible.
GIFT VOUCHERS
HOW AND WHERE CAN I BUY GIFT VOUCHERS?
The easiest way to purchase them is to click ‘Gift vouchers’ on the website. Here you’ll find different types of these so you can make sure you have the right kind for the right occasion. If you choose the digital option, easy online payment can be made, and you receive your voucher within minutes. When you choose the plastic card option, after your payment is made it will be sent by Hungarian Post and delivery takes 1-3 working days.
HOW LONG IS THE VOUCHER VALID FOR?
Every voucher is valid for a year from the date of purchase. They can be used by anyone and anytime in that period. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
WHAT TO DO IF I DIDN’T GET MY DIGITAL VOUCHER?
Following the purchase you’ll receive an automatic email with your voucher, this might take up to 10 minutes. Don’t forget to check the ‘Spam’ folder! If you still didn’t receive the email, please contact Customer Service who will be happy to help.
WHAT CAN THE VOUCHER BE USED FOR?
Vouchers purchased on the website can be used for 9900 HUF events. If the chosen event is more participation is possible after settling the difference on site at the venue. You’ll receive an automatic email regarding this after you book.
CAN DOUBLE VOUCHERS ONLY BE USED TOGETHER AT THE SAME TIME?
No, the double voucher means two separate coupon codes so they can be used for two different events.
